This painting gives me such happy feelings. Feelings of my childhood, mixed in with the hopes I have for my children's current experience. And lightning bugs in the south are so magical. During my childhood it felt like there were 1000s of them every night during the summer. We still see them, of course, but it never matches what lives on in my head.
