Ana is inspired by traditional paintings of wealthy women with lap dogs. In my new body of work, I am exploring the idea of a modern woman with an art history spin. Originally I had planned a woman from Latin America with an unknown country of origin, but after an interesting dinner with a Puerto Rican priest, I wanted to highlight that heritage and culture.
